Fresh off stealing the show at both Magifest and The Session, we’re so excited to welcome in Dr. Matt Pritchard for what is destined to be one of the most fascinating Masterclasses we’ve ever offered!
You may know Matt better as “The Science Magician”, a name he’s built for himself after leveraging his background as an atomic physicist to create viral videos of magic illusions online that have been seen by more than 20 million people. Blending his two biggest passions, science and magic, Matt has created some of the most unique and astonishing effects we’ve ever seen.
Now, for the first time ever, Matt will be sharing the secrets that fooled some of the most knowledgeable magicians in the world. You'll get the real work behind the tricks that went viral, including the core principles you can use to amplify your own work.
This special Masterclass will be as inspiring as it is informative. Matt will be showing you many of his favorite illusions, offering you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how he combines physics and trickery to create wonder online and in real life.
He’ll teach you a range of techniques, methods, and theories that you can apply to the magic you already do and the objects that you already own. This includes an in-depth exploration of some familiar principles, like how mirrors can be used to make objects completely disappear, or how you can take advantage of perspective to completely alter reality, as well as some brand-new ideas he’s never shared anywhere else.
Matt’s ultimate goal is not to simply just teach you some fun tricks to perform a few times and then forget about, But rather open your mind up to the exciting possibilities that can be unlocked when you apply science to magic. These are incredible and practical insights you can start using right away.

Thinking outside the box, Matt Pritchard literally blew my mind and opened my eyes to optical illusion impossibilities. Some of these tricks could only be used in YouTube videos but the creative thinking and clear explanations, coupled with his build tutorials gave me several ideas to bringing a unique source of magic and wonder to the spectator. Matt shares some aha momemts when he noticed an optical illusion and acted on it, making a mind-blowing illusion. Matt showed us some trial and error he endured while creating his illusions, and he solution which is gloriously simple but devilishly deceptive. He shows he he vanished a tower, recreating David Copperfield's vanish of the Statute of Liberty, but in cheaper cardboard form. Simple comnsturction materials, acrylic mirrors, and magnets are some of the tools he uses, arranged in a special way to trick your eyes. He even makes a small Pepper's Ghost illusion with cardboard and plastic and his smartphone. And all this in about 90 minutes! And this is only Part 1! I can't wait until I see the next part! Watch this video and be amazed, amused, and mystified by Matt's magic! And some of these can be scaled up to the stage. Definitely a Masterclass for sure! Well worth watching.
